Version 10.3

After a long wait, version 10.3 is finally available to download.

This version includes subtle usability changes in almost all of the main screens, but the two most significant improvements are the ability to add pictures to encyclopedia items, and the ability to see the stat block for a creature template in the encounter builder.

I like the encyclopedia update, and the statblock in encounter builder is pretty cool to.

    Hey guys,

    Great work once again!

I would like to share some issues I have been having lately with MP, and in order to do that I will give you a little history of my usage.

So I started using MP about 18 months ago, was lucky enough to have all the libraries loaded in before it was stopped. I also loaded all the tiles I had.

With time, I started building my entire campaign using MP, maps, monsters, skill challenges, pictures, etc, etc etc.

Recently, I have began to have some serious issues with MP, mostly about performance. It would take forever to load my campaign file, combat encounters would be unplayable, moving a token would take 30-45 seconds and I’m not even talking about LOS.

So I started to use d20pro for the encounter part of the work, while using MP for the storyline. Last weekend, in preparation for our next D&D game, I started wondering why MP was so slow and choppy and I think I found my answer: my library files and gotten 250 megabytes big.

I cleaned it a bit, removing tiles and keeping just monsters, traps, items and skill challenges.

I wonder if you guys could look into MP’s management of larger libraries. Although D20pro is nice, I like MP better as I have everything at the same spot. Any hints on improving performance for me?

You can reply directly by my email if you wish :)

Thanks for your great work, the community is really grateful.

i have exactly the same problem. I have been able to speed up encounters by making sure that the map I use is made up of the various other tiles in the map editor. Keep track of the height and width of the map. Then I save it as a single file, then load it into an encounter and scale it to the proper size. At this point I add any special tiles like LOS, etc. This made a massive improvement with character movement, which is now near instantaneous. LOS and cover work fine.

Also, close all the open library files in the map editor before you begin gaming.

    I hope this helps,

    Anch

    Hi,

This probably isn’t the right place to mention a bug (or feature ;-) ) but I don’t seem to be able to post on the Facebook page so here goes.

I’ve notice in my V10.3 that Traits that are aura’s don’t have the keywords in. Check out the Klurichir for an example from MM3 that I’ve exported from adventure tools and has the keyword in the xml file but doesn’t display in the stat block.

Thanks and sorry again if I’ve posted in the wrong place.

Hi I’m new to Masterplan, but I cannot change the level of a skill challenge since the Level input box is always disabled. Am I doing something wrong, or is this a bug?
