In-Session Reference suggestions

Now that people have had a week to play with Version 10, what other additions to the In-Session Reference page would you like to see in the future?

I think calendar should be moved there with the ability to mark and advance current date.

  • Mushi Says:

I agree on the calendar. I’d also like to see the rest of my player’s skills, not just Insight/Perception. At least may be the Monster Knowledge check ones.

Something else you may want to add would be some of the standard DC tables, such as travel speeds, light radius, breaking / lifting / climbing things and so forth.

  • Krieger Says:

maybe even the normalized damage table for the level below, same, and level above the PCs average level. that would be useful for improve damage tables instead of looking them up someplace.

  • Krieger Says:

scatch that… I just noticed them at the bottom. Sorry. I’m using a netbook so they were just past the bottom of the visable section of the screen.

  • Jonathan Says:

Maybe not necessarily on the In-Game Reference page, but I’d like to see the Encounter engine using the defenses and abilities (like Regen) for players as well as the Monsters. The updates so far have been great, even with the WoTC challenges you have had to overcome. Keep up the great work.

I wouldn’t mind seeing more DC tables either: the kind of stuff you get on DM screens and the like. Thought that might anger the Wizards watching from their all-too-regimented Coast.
As it is, this new feature is incredible. I can’t wait to try it out!!!

    *Though

  • Chillidawg72 Says:

@hamletsandwich, Better yet, the ability to make your own DC tables and store them in your libraries. That would avoid the whole legal issue.

  • Krieger Says:

I just found the generators on the second tab. I really like those for when I’m stuck for a name or description. Could we also get one that does a handful of magic items that are level appropriate if we point it to a library(s) with majic items?

  • Krieger Says:

I just found the name generators, and other random generators. I’ll definately get alot of use out of these. I’d like to see a random magic item generator as well. Something that will list out a series of items that are selected from the libraries, that are level approriate. I like to give out small usually 1 time use items, or just random items along with loot. This would be really helpful to have in-game. Also a place to write notes on the session would be very useful as well.

How about a section that carries HP over between fights, and healing surges left/used.

  • Nathan Grey Says:

I would like to see the option to draw “walls” that block line of sight. So I can build Dungeons and can use the line of sight option.
I know that have nothing to do with In-Session Reference page but I want that option really badly.

  • JustanotherDM Says:

I´d like to be able to make my own NPCs and Magic Items without having to fetch templates from the wizards site. Other than that i agree with the healing surges and the calender, that´s high priority for me. Loving Masterplan, can´t be without it.

  • Rev Says:

Definitely agreeing with the calendar suggestions (tracking the current day and advancing the calendar – maybe even an option for how many hours of the day, so you can track what time it is if it’s important?). I’d like to see some expansions to the generators as well. They’re definitely nice to have on hand, but more of them (a human name generator perhaps? Tavern/business name generator?) would be nice, as would a little more variety in the room description generator.

  • Kevin Says:

Since you can allocate magic items to PCs, how about a listing with each PC of the items allocated to him/her. And a listing of skills for each PC, even just trained ones, would be nice.

  • Captain Spooky Says:

I’d like to be able to apply damage to a group of combatants; like for area attacks, so I don’t have to enter it for each monster.

  • Sepret Says:

I would like your help. Am Basileiro and use the program you to play D & D, but I needed to format the computer and when I installed again the masterplan it presents a warning that the files containing records of monsters prepending by me manually, or translated, can not be displayed by issue security. How can I disable this function? Many of the forms of monsters that have already been translated by me, but I can only open the library with the original files and I would not begin to translate everything again.
Thank you for listening, your work is fantastic.

  • Justine Ayers Says:

I would like to see the ability to add modifiers and see the math in the Dice Roller.
Also I would like to be able to click and maybe see Area Features and Tactics while running the encounter. I know i can tab out but it would be nice to just click and see them in case i need the DC for the players opening a door or something that i wrote in there.

I also agree with needing more player info. (maybe even a simple character sheet)

  • Wargoose Says:

It would be awesome if you could expore the in-session just like the independent plot points. :)

  • Fever Dream Says:

I agree with the suggestion to be able to “draw” walls that block the line of sight. Some of the available dungeon tiles don’t do this well. Also. doors don’t block line of sight and the ability to “draw” something through a door to block it would be great.

    Awesome program.
